What to Bring (and what Not to Bring) Guide
Basic Items Needed:
- Enough comfortable wash and wear clothing for 5-7 days. We provide washer/ dryer and detergent.
- One or two “dressy’ items for Family Night.
- Exercise clothing, including one-piece bathing suit for women (no exceptions), exercise shoes, pool towel or small towel for the gym. (May bring earphones/headset only to plug into gym equipment).
- Comfortable shoes. Sneakers for gym, sandal types for summer or warm slippers for winter.
- Appropriate sleepwear / robe
- Sweaters/Jackets for Fall-Spring or light jacket/sweatshirt for summer.
- Summer wear: walking shorts, T-shirts, hat, sunscreen SPF 15 or higher.
- (Clothing must cover mid-section/stomach completely).
- Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, hair products, deodorant, hair dryer, liquid body wash, lotion, shaving supplies
- No products containing alcohol will be allowed. Please note this for hairspray and mouthwash.
- Pre-Paid Calling Cards or $10-$20 worth of change for the phone.
- Prescribed medications if applicable (and money for co-pays/prescriptions).
- Health insurance card and driver’s license.
- If you smoke, please bring enough cigarettes for 30 days. Cornerstone does not purchase cigarettes for patients. We do not allow any type of chewing tobacco. Nicorette gum or nicotine patches are acceptable.
- Dark sunglasses are allowed outdoors only.
- Small travel alarm clock is suggested.
- Note: It is advisable to pack a small bag with essentials for your immediate 24-hour needs as your baggage may not be available until staff can check it.
We Do Not Allow:
- Outside food or drinks, including water, candy, or chewing gum. We maintain a moderate sugar and fully caffeine free environment.
- Cell phones, pagers, computers, palm computers, music equipment, TV’s, DVD players, radios, clock radios, iPods/MP3 players, etc.
- Faxes (e-mail, Internet, or computer access is limited to case manager approval).
- Magazines or novels (recovery-based or spiritual material allowed only).
- Exercise equipment.
- Products containing alcohol.
- Cigars, flavored cigs, cloves, hand rolled cigs, or pipes, etc.
- Candles or incense.
- Expensive jewelry or excessive cash.
- Tanning oils, other self-tanning products, hair dye, or bleaching products.
- Vitamins, herbal supplements, sleep aides, body building or weight loss supplements.
- Note: We provide a multi-vitamin.

Telephone and Visitation:
- There are no direct incoming calls to residents. Family contact is made through case manager or a message is left with our receptionist for a return call. There are no calls allowed for the first 72 hrs.
- Telephone access hours are strictly enforced.
- Visitation is scheduled through your case manager only.
- Residents will attend Thursday Family Night if well enough.
