Cornerstone of Southern California is licensed and certified by the state of California, probation approved, nationally accredited by The Joint Commission and located in sunny Orange County, California. We have been helping individuals and families find recovery since 1984. We offer a primary drug and alcohol rehabilitation/treatment program for men and women over the age of 18.
We believe that we provide the best clinically experienced staff and programs you will find. How do we know? Our clients tell us every day, and those that have been in other centers say they wish they had come to Cornerstone first.
Our former clients say it best: "It is the truly caring staff that makes Cornerstone the best rehab I have been to. The best part was finally getting my depression medications right, after many others tried for 2 years." - Jim V.
"Dr. Stone, I am so grateful to your program and also your generosity. I was a hopeless addict who believed there was no way of getting clean. Thanks to my sister and Cornerstone staff, I recently took my 90 day chip in N.A. Thanks, my life has been changed." - Isaac C.

What is Addiction? Addiction is a complex brain disease characterized by compulsive drug-seeking and use, despite harmful consequences.
We treat clients with all addictive chemical and alcohol problems.
Prescription drugs for pain are becoming a serious problem for many individuals, e.g. Vicodin, Oxycontin, Norco, Fentanyl, Tramadol, Morphine, Percocet, Dilaudid, Demerol, Methadone and Suboxone/Subutex. Prescription sleeping pills and tranquilizers continue to be popular and usually need inpatient detox, e.g. Xanax, Valium, Librium, Ativan, Serax and other benzodiazepines. Soma is seen usually combined with pain-killers.
Detox from stimulants, both prescribed (Adderal and Ritalin) as well as "street" methamphetamine and cocaine is not as dangerous but still made much easier by monitored medical help by a personal or independent physician.
Our program focuses on relapse prevention treatment. Everyone will have a strategy for their individual triggers when they leave.
Our residential program is in a safe, supportive, home-like environment that enhances the recovery process.
The program includes therapeutic groups, lectures, written assignments, individual counseling and family involvement.
The treatment plan is individualized for each client's specific needs. The continuing care plan is discussed early in treatment because of its importance.
We believe in using holistic methods to treat the body, mind and spirit.
Recovery from addiction requires a Biological, Psychological and Social approach.
We belong to LA Fitness and, when cleared by an independent physician, our clients may go to the gym up to four (4) times a week. We have other supervised outings, e.g. the movies, Newport Beach boat rides, miniature golf, bowling and other fun activities relative to the time of year and weather.
We have separate houses for men and women, other than detox, which is co-ed. There are six (6) residents per house. All meals and snacks are included. A washer and dryer for your laundry is provided.
We offer 12-Step involvement and provide transportation to local outside 12 step meetings up to 5 times a week.

Relapse Prevention is the focus of treatment at Cornerstone. We recommend that our independent physicians consider these anti-craving medications for our residents to assist you in building a solid foundation for recovery. The Clinical Team can explain any recommendations for some of the newer Anti-Craving Medications.
Campral is a delayed release tablet used for the maintenance of abstinence from alcohol in individuals with alcohol dependence. Campral helps reduce the physical and emotional discomfort many people feel in the weeks and months after they have stopped drinking and participating in treatment. Campral has demonstrated success in helping clients maintain long-term sobriety.
Naltrexone (Revia) is a safe, effective oral medication used as part of a comprehensive treatment program as an aid to treat alcohol dependence and opioid addiction. While effective, it must always be remembered that naltrexone is a tool to assist an individual in the process of recovery, and is not a cure in and of itself. Naltrexone is an opiate blocker and prevents all opiate addicts from getting high and reduces craving in the alcoholic.
Vivitrol is Naltrexone in injection form. It lasts approximately a month and helps people with compliance.
Antabuse is useful for alcoholics as a deterrent to drinking because if you drink while on antabuse, you become very sick.
